Nikhil Navkar

Dr. Nikhil Navkar is an Academic Research Scientist with Department of Surgery at Hamad Medical Corporation. His work focuses on the research, development, and innovation of medical technologies to solve unmet clinical needs. He has initiated, planned, and executed multi-institutional, multidisciplinary R&D projects across engineering and clinical teams. Dr. Navkar was formerly a research executive in medical software engineering with Qatar Foundation’s Qatar Robotic Surgery Center at Qatar Science & Technology Park where he worked on medical robotics projects aligned with the national research and health strategies.

Dr. Navkar has a PhD in Computer Science from University of Houston, and has also collaborated with Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center at The Methodist Hospital, and MD Anderson Cancer Hospital in the USA. Dr. Navkar’s research interests include human-computer-interaction for medical devices, computer simulations for preoperative planning and training, and algorithms for image-guided robotic interventions. His research has resulted in 35+ conference/journal publications and patent filings.
